The University of Virginia's College at Wise, a division of the University of Virginia located in Wise, Virginia, invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a secondary specialization. The position is a full‑time, 9‑month commitment at the assistant professor level, housed within the Department of Business and Economics. The department has experienced substantial growth, and the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, along with other emerging hospitality enterprises, is expected to drive demand for graduates.

More than six hundred thousand people live within an hour’s distance of Wise, creating significant opportunities for students.

Applicants should clearly indicate both their primary and secondary areas of specialization in the cover letter. Candidates with expertise in other fields within business or hospitality and tourism management will also be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in their secondary area and the core Hospitality and Tourism Management curriculum, support departmental initiatives, and collaborate with industry partners to develop internships and experiential learning opportunities.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality and tourism management and a secondary specialization.
• Conduct research suitable for the Department of Business and Economics at UVA‑Wise.
• Collaborate with local businesses and organizations.
• Mentor and advise students, supporting their academic and career development.
• Promote the hospitality and tourism program to local students and organizations.
• Engage in service activities within the department and university community.
• Hold regular office hours during the regular semesters.

• A Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field in the secondary specialization (advanced ABD candidates will be considered).
