Dual Enrollment Instructor at Rappahannock Community College (RCC)
RCC is a public two‑year college serving a rural 12‑county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia. The Dual Enrollment Instructor teaches college courses in high schools, providing rigorous instruction and enabling students to earn high‑school and college credit simultaneously.
Responsibilities- Teach dual enrollment courses at high schools, covering both high‑school and college content at a rigorous level.
- Ensure all courses meet college policies, procedures, learning outcomes, syllabi, assessment, and evaluation standards.
- Collaborate with high‑school administrators and faculty to design and deliver course materials.
- Participate in faculty evaluation processes and professional development activities.
- Assist the agency or state government as required during emergencies or when called for.
- Master’s degree in the content area or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the content area for all transfer courses.
- For specialist professional or technical associate positions, a Bachelor's in a teaching field or an Associate in a teaching field with demonstrated competency and at least 2 years of related occupational experience.
- Employment in a local school system is required.
- Teaching experience in the discipline.
- Additional consideration given to candidates with teaching experience.
- Operation of a State Vehicle? not required. No supervising employees, no required travel.
- Completed VCCS employment application.
- Legible set of unofficial transcripts (official transcripts of all college coursework completed).
- Copies of any licenses and certifications required for the position.
- Resume and cover letter (optional but encouraged).
- Online submission through the VCCS ATS only.
- Background check and reference verification required.
