Youth and Family Director

Under the supervision of the Branch Executive, the Youth and Family Director oversees the administration and operations of all internal and external youth and teen activities, programs, and special events, Pickleball programming, ensuring a positive, safe, enriching environment, in accordance with the YMCA core values and mission. The cause is worthy and the team is fun and hard-working.

• At least 2 years experience in Youth or Teen Program setting.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to interact appropriately and professionally with members as well as YMCA staff and YMCA community partners.
• Must be able to follow instructions regarding policies and procedures of the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
• Must be willing to function as part of the team and able to communicate effectively with staff, program participants, members, and vendors in a variety of situations.
• Must be willing to learn new skills both on and off the computer and should enjoy varied assignments and multi‑tasking.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of office environment and meeting deadlines.
• Must be dependable, mature, responsible, have the ability to use good judgment.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (can be provided).
