Middle School Art Teacher

Powhatan is seeking an experienced studio art teacher for grades 5-8. The successful candidate will have a background in both art and education, a specific interest in working with middle school-aged children, strong instructional and classroom-management skills, and experience in curriculum design and student assessment. An interest in collaborating closely with colleagues is essential, specifically in managing student set design for performances.

We aim to emphasize a creative, hands-on, project-based approach to art including both traditional and digital media. Additional responsibilities include serving as an advisor, accompanying students on field trips, regular communication with families, participation in faculty meetings, and lunch and recess and duties several times a week.
