We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Obstetrician/Gynecologist for a locum tenens position near Haynesville, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible physician who is dedicated to providing high-quality care to adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, with a focus on labor and delivery, patient triage, and emergency consultations.

• Coverage Type: 24-Hour Call Coverage
  • Labor and Delivery:
    Manage laboring patients, perform inductions, and provide care during the entire childbirth process.
  • Triage Labor Patients:
    Evaluate and manage patients presenting in labor or with obstetric concerns.
  • ER Consults:
    Provide expert consultations for obstetric and gynecological emergencies in the Emergency Room.
  • Floor Consults:
    Manage ongoing inpatient care for established OBGYN patients.
  • Trauma Call:
    Respond to trauma-related obstetric and gynecological emergencies.
  • Patient Follow-Up:
    Ensure continuity of care by following up on established OBGYN patients during their inpatient stay.

• Licensure:
  • Must hold a current Virginia medical license.
• Certifications:
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
  • DEA and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) are mandatory.
• Experience:
  • Proven experience in managing a full spectrum of obstetric and gynecological cases, particularly in high-pressure, emergency, and labor and delivery settings.

• Support Staff:
  • You will work alongside a dedicated nursing unit staff, ensuring comprehensive patient care and smooth operations during your shift.
• Daily Patient Volume:
  • Expect to manage an average of 11 patients per day, providing personalized care and maintaining high patient satisfaction.
• No OB Hospitalist Program:
  • Please note that there is no OB Hospitalist program for backup, so the physician must be comfortable managing all aspects of obstetric and gynecological care independently.
• Flexible Scheduling:
  • The position offers 24-hour call coverage with on-site inpatient rounding and evening call coverage.

• Holidays:
  • Coverage is required on major holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and the 4th of July.
