Emporia is located in Southern Virginia, about 100 miles north of Raleigh, NC. The beautiful beaches of Virginia coast are 80 miles to the east. Lake Gaston, N.C., where many physicians live, is about 25 miles south of Emporia.

Beautiful Lake Gaston is located on the Virginia/North Carolina border between Interstates 85 and 95. Lake Gaston’s 20,300 surface acres of water and 35 miles of shoreline encompass portions of Halifax, Northampton and Warren Counties in North Carolina and Brunswick and Mecklenburg Counties in Virginia. Our mild climate, with an average winter temperature of 42.4 degrees and an average summer temperature of 76.5 degrees, attracts many tourists, second home owners, and new residents.
