• Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings to create roof and floor truss layouts.
• Design roof and floor trusses using MiTek while learning best practices for accuracy, efficiency, and code compliance.
• Apply 84 Components design standards, policies, and procedures to real‑world projects.
• Select and specify required hardware and components to support safe, efficient construction.
• Track projects from initial design through approval using organized job tracking systems.
• Prepare and send customer approval letters under established procedures.
• Collaborate with sales, production, and customer service teams to support project success.
• Maintain clean, well‑organized plan files and documentation.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Hands‑on training with mentorship from experienced designers.
• Exposure to structural design, engineering concepts, and construction practices.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, OR drafting experience with a strong interest in structural design
• Comfortable working with design software and technical drawings
• Detail‑oriented, curious, and eager to learn

• Reading architectural prints to create truss placement layouts
• Design roof and floor trusses in engineering software
