Service Advisor

Overview

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Service Advisor in Fishersville, Virginia. The Service Advisor is responsible for communicating with internal and external customers to gather information regarding equipment issues and providing repair status updates while repairs are in progress; opening/processing work orders in an efficient and timely manner using thorough details on customer requests/complaints to ensure technician understanding and customer satisfaction.

Seeking candidates with a minimum two years’ service related experience; heavy equipment exposure;
High School diploma or equivalent, required.

• Communicate with internal and external customers to gather information regarding equipment issues and provide repair status updates while repairs are in progress.
• Open and process work orders in an efficient and timely manner with thorough details on customer requests/complaints to ensure technician understanding and customer satisfaction.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with stressful situations.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to effectively multi-task.
• Attention to detail; working knowledge of the function and repair of heavy construction equipment preferred.
• Ability to work any shift.

Physical requirements include regularly sitting and talking or hearing. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
