Role And Responsibilities
  • Oversee the physical care of Youth For Tomorrow (YFT) Immigrant Foster Care (IFC) children while on campus
  • Meet and greet foster care parents and coordinate drop‑off and pick‑up of foster care children
  • Support the IFC teacher in the supervision and care of children and other students attending classes (ages 6‑12)
  • Coordinate on‑ and off‑campus medical appointments and ensure IFC students attend scheduled visits
  • Support foster care children on campus during non‑school days and coordinate drop‑off and pick‑up with foster parents from on‑campus homes
  • Help students develop acceptable habits and positive attitudes
  • Manage IFC student behavior in accordance with program expectations
  • Assist in meeting goals and objectives outlined in required service plans
  • Provide guidance and supervision to assigned IFC students and children
  • Accurately collect, review, and analyze waiver testing of IFC students following home visits, AWOL incidents, and as needed
  • Work effectively with the Treatment Team and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a stable, safe, and structured environment
  • Maintain the integrity of the program structure in the absence of House Coordinator leadership
  • Attend all YFT‑mandated trainings and continuously pursue professional development opportunities to meet established standards
  • Ensure all duties support the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services, or supervisor

  • Ability to support constructive IFC student‑family visitation and community involvement
  • Ability to provide services in a culturally and linguistically competent manner
  • Temperament to work with children and youth across multiple age ranges, including those with special needs
  • Ability to maintain safety, security, and structure at all times
  • Ability to maintain physical and mental capacity to support IFC students and families with mental health and behavioral needs
  • Ability to use trauma‑informed practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services; or
  • Actively and continuously pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with the ability to provide documentation; or
  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and a minimum of six (6) months of experience working with children
  • Enrollment in and successful completion of the assigned Training and Certification Program within eighteen (18) months of hire
  • Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age in accordance with state regulations and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to follow medication management protocols
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license that meets or exceeds Youth For Tomorrow insurance guidelines.
