- Coordinates daily activities with the Warehouse Manager, lead men, and other employees.
- Ensure plant records, logbook(s), checklists, DMME pre-shift inspections, and other plant documents are filled out correctly and turned in as required.
- Coordinates and directs daily packaging and warehouse activities in the Warehouse Manager’s absence.
- Responsible for the efficient operation of plant equipment and the loading and unloading of trucks.
- Monitors product quality by making sure all inspection and sampling guidelines are followed.
- Operates lift trucks, floor sweepers, or other mobile equipment.
- Monitors housekeeping in assigned areas and maintains a clean warehouse interior and exterior, ensuring compliance with plant and AIB requirements.
- Operate packaging and mobile equipment to assist employees in the shipping and receiving of raw materials and evaporated salt products.
- Responsible for monitoring the transition of waste management in the warehouse area.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Monitors production operation through documented procedures and policies. Reports and takes necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Verifies and documents tasks as required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme temperatures. The employee is frequently exposed to high work areas, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
Responsibilities
- Supervise employees in the packaging and warehouse areas.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Provide employee training in safety, mobile equipment, and daily operations.
- Assign work duties, address complaints, and resolve problems.
- Train other employees as needed. The Leadman is to keep all of their own training current and up to date
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Six months or more of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
- Write routine reports and other documents as needed. Must speak effectively before groups of people.
Ability to add, subtract, and multiply. Calculate production, shipped, and received tonnages and totals.
