As a Public Information Assistant, you will support County communications by ensuring information shared with the community is clear, accurate, and accessible.
This role combines administrative support with digital communications and content management. The position serves as the first point of contact for public inquiries, answering incoming calls and directing requests as appropriate, while assisting with the coordination of public-facing materials and online content.

- Serve as a first point of contact for public inquiries, routing requests to appropriate departments as needed.
- Assist with managing and updating the County's social media platforms in accordance with established guidelines.
- Support maintenance and updates to County websites and other digital platforms.
- Create flyers, announcements, and other informational materials for County departments.
- Develop, design, and publish recurring County newsletters or accomplishment brochures highlighting County programs, initiatives, and achievements.
- Receive, distribute, and track incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Organize, maintain, and archive official documents and public information records.
- Assist with scheduling, organizing, and distributing public communications and materials.
- Support special projects and public information initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to communications activities.
- Work directly with County leadership to provide clear, accurate responses to frequently asked questions about County operations and initiatives.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in communications, public administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in administrative support, communications, customer service, or a related role.
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital content tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work professionally with the public and across County departments.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Experience managing or assisting with organizational social media accounts.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS).
- Basic graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools).
- Experience working in a local government or public‑sector environment.
- Demonstrated interest in communications, public service, or digital media.
