Overview

We are actively seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team and take full ownership of a high-volume, high-impact AP function. This role is critical and urgent; we would hire the right person immediately.

The successful candidate will manage $40M+ in annual accounts payable, owning the process end-to-end. While prior construction accounting experience is helpful, it is not required. What matters most is a sharp, detail-oriented professional who can quickly learn the complexity of construction accounting and operate with accuracy, accountability, and confidence.

What You'll Do

• Fully own the accounts payable function, managing $40M+ in AP volume with accuracy and timeliness.
• Process vendor invoices, verify coding, manage approvals, and ensure proper documentation.
• Navigate and quickly learn the complexities of construction accounting, including job costing and vendor management.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Partner with project managers, accounting leadership, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries.
• Support month-end close activities related to AP, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Continuously look for ways to improve AP processes, efficiency, and accuracy.

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, ideally in a high-volume or complex environment.
• Comfortable owning and managing large-dollar AP portfolios (experience managing $40M+ preferred).
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Quick learner with the ability to understand complex workflows and accounting structures.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, accountable mindset.
• Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required-aptitude and attention to detail matter most.
