Inventory Control Specialist / Material Handler

Location: Virginia Beach, VA (On‑Site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Type: Contract‑to‑Hire

Pay Rate: $21/hr

This is a great opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional with strong inventory, material handling, and shipping/receiving capabilities. You’ll support daily warehouse operations, ensure accurate inventory flow, and play a key role in maintaining efficient production support within a large, climate‑controlled facility.

This position supports warehouse, inventory, and material coordination activities. You will perform receiving, packaging, labeling, and inventory control functions, while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring timely movement of materials to and from production.

• Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy against purchase documents.
• Process materials arriving from vendors or Government sources.
• Prepare, package, and label outbound shipments following commercial and technical specifications.
• Complete receiving reports, shipping documents, labels, and other administrative tasks.
• Perform data entry, filing, and updates in warehouse and inventory systems.
• Support inventory control processes, including issuing and kitting parts for production.
• Coordinate outbound shipments using online commercial and Government portals.
• Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safe work practices.
• Assist with general warehouse functions as assigned.

• 3–5 years of warehouse, material handling, or shipping/receiving experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Forklift experience preferred (certification is a plus).
• Familiarity with technical or procedural standards (such as ISO or military specifications) is helpful.
• Experience with Costpoint/Deltek or other MRP systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and support multiple tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
