Position OverviewWe are seeking a Diesel / CDL Equipment Technician to support a growing, multi-million-dollar operation with specialty CDL trucks and hydraulic equipment. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair to keep critical assets operational for both night and daytime field crews.
This is a hands-on technician role, not a parts-changer position. You will work in a clean, organized fully climate controlled shop alongside an experienced maintenance team and operations leadership that values uptime, safety, and doing repairs the right way.
Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform PM services on CDL specialty trucks (oil, filters, fluids, grease, inspections)
Diagnose and repair:
Brake systems (air & hydraulic)
Suspension & steering
Air systems
Electrical systems (lighting, batteries, sensors, wiring)
Hydraulic systems (hoses, valves, pumps, PTOs)
Conduct regen & emissions triage (DPF, DEF, SCR systems)
Diagnose check-engine lights, derates, and drivability issues
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot faults efficiently
Complete DOT-related inspections and documentation
Coordinate repair priorities with the Fleet Maintenance Manager
Perform minor fabrication or welding as needed
Maintain clean work practices and accurate service records
CDL specialty trucks
Hydraulic equipment & attachments
Supporting fleet vehicles as needed
(Major engine and transmission rebuilds are outsourced)
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Day shift (some flexibility based on operational needs)
Occasional after-hours support may be required for high profile jobs.
3+ years of experience working on diesel and/or CDL equipment
Strong knowledge of:
Diesel PMs
Air brake systems
Electrical troubleshooting
Hydraulic systems
Ability to diagnose issues independently
Experience with emissions systems (DPF/DEF/SCR) preferred
Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, not required)
Own basic hand tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
ASE certifications
CDL
Experience with specialty equipment or hydraulics
Welding or fabrication skills
Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and skill level
