large manufacturing company in virginia beach va is looking for maintenance electricians. Looking for someone who is open to working in a non-climate controlled environment. Must have mechanical and electrical repair experience on manufacturing equipment.
shift:
1st shift mon-fri 8am-430pm
3rd shift mon-thur 430pm-330am
pays: $28-$37 hourly
job summary: we are seeking a skilled electrician to join our manufacturing team. The electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant operations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow schematics, blueprints, and project specifications.
primary responsibilitiesinstall new or modified electrical systems in compliance with local, state, and national codes.
plan electrical installations to minimize material waste, ensure future maintenance accessibility, and maintain safe, reliable, and professional wiring layouts.
interpret and follow diagrams, blueprints, and project specifications accurately.
apply journeyman-level electrician skills for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and related equipment.
apply mechanical knowledge as needed to diagnose and repair equipment, including air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
maintain work schedules, attendance, and duty requirements as established.
perform work tasks as specified in project drawings, customer specifications, or project requirements.
manage cleanliness and organization of the electrical shop and facility work areas.
travel to job sites as required to support electrical projects.
maintain safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.
complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
adhere to all safety procedures, including osha regulations, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and confined space policies.
attend required educational and training sessions to maintain and improve technical skills.
journeyman-level electrician experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
knowledge of electrical systems, installation techniques, and repair practices.
ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety.
mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting related equipment.
ability to work independently or as part of a team.
willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
full-time, 40-hour work week with potential overtime.
primarily manufacturing environment with occasional travel to job sites.
