The Senior Service Technician reports to the Service Manager and is responsible for performing a wide range of HVAC servicing jobs for residential and light commercial HVAC customers.

This position requires an individual who is decisive, tactful, dependable, and proactive, with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse customer groups. The technician must accurately diagnose issues and efficiently complete jobs, ensuring mutual satisfaction for the customer and Climatemakers of VA. Job-related contact includes service customers, other technicians, the Service Manager, Dispatcher, and Parts Runners.
Representative duties include:
- Performing complex HVAC diagnostics and repairs independently, including on-call duties as needed.
- Conducting point-of-work sales for Indoor Air Quality services, unit components, and residential service contracts.
- Developing lead referrals for sales staff.
- Performing other duties as directed by the Service Manager.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma and completion of a 2+ year post-secondary HVACR program.
- At least five years of full-time HVACR experience as a residential service technician.
- Strong communication skills, including reading and understanding manufacturers' instructions and effectively communicating with customers and team members.
- Physical ability to perform duties under Virginia's weather conditions.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through self-study, training, and workshops.
- Valid driver's license and insurability for company vehicle operation within 30 days of employment.
- Interest and aptitude for low-pressure sales techniques, including developing leads and selling units, add-ons, IAQ services, and contracts.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage a non-standard schedule, and handle various operational constraints.
