Installation Technician ET Communication

The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking an Electronics Technician – External Communications to support our growing technology business in Virginia Beach. This position will focus on our USCG business supporting external communications system upgrades.

• Maintain, repair, calibrate, tune, and adjust electronic equipment used for external communications.
• Handle systems that send and receive high‑frequency (HF), very high‑frequency (VHF), and ultra‑high‑frequency (UHF) radio and satellite communications.
• Perform organizational level maintenance on external communications systems and associated equipment, including antennas and ancillary gear.
• Use schematics, diagrams, and testing equipment to diagnose and isolate malfunctions in complex electronic components and systems.
• Install and inspect various communication circuits, equipment racks, and associated cabling, sometimes involving fiber optics and soldering.

• Minimum five years of electronic maintenance, repair, or installation work.
• Proficiency using basic hand and power tools.
• Flexibility for periodic travel and overnight stays when required.
• Ability to pass a security clearance check, criminal background check, drug test, and have a clean driver’s record.
• Capability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
