- Install refrigeration systems following customer specifications, building codes, and proper piping practices
- Support construction jobs by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, including required electrical wiring
- Install pipe hangers as directed by the foreman
- Weld and slip‑hose copper pipes and assist the foreman as needed
- Hand cooler box coils and install new or remodel supermarket refrigeration systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience, and trade or technical school classes
- EPA Certification (Type II)
- 5+ years experience in construction preferred; hands‑on field experience in commercial refrigeration, electrical, and/or fixtures construction
- Experience in copper brazing, market remodeling
- Good driving record
- Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations
- Knowledge of carpentry
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems and piping of refrigeration equipment
- Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings; ability to pipe refrigeration equipment
- Ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical and plumbing
- Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers
- Ability to use hand and power tools; good mechanical skills
- Knowledge of jobsite safety; ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe practices
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws
- Ability to use typical business tools including E‑Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees regularly walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and lift up to 25 lb, occasionally 50 lb. Work occurs in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service, and construction environments, often near refrigeration/HVAC equipment, with exposure to extreme cold, heat, dust, and inclement weather.
