Job OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Security Coordinator/FSO to support security operations at a government contract site in Virginia Beach. The facility operates 24/7, and this role assists the Lead Facility Security Officer (FSO) in implementing and enforcing federal, contractual, and company security policies, ensuring classified information remains protected. Security at this site is mission‑critical and directly supports national defense efforts.
Responsibilities- Assist the Lead FSO in executing National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), SECNAVINST, and other federal regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enforce company and government security protocols.
- Deliver security briefings and support an effective security education program.
- Oversee daily operational security, including access control, visitor escorting, and classified material management.
- Conduct routine and end‑of‑day checks for classified areas, including lock combinations and inventory.
- Respond to and document any security violations or suspected compromises.
- Communicate facility security status and issues to FSO and management.
- Education / Experience
- Industrial Security Analyst 1: 0 years experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field or a High School Diploma / equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Industrial Security Analyst 2: 3 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 1 year relevant experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma / equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
- Security Compliance Knowledge & Operational Skills
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to evolving security needs.
- Proficiency in physical security enforcement and administrative procedures.
- Working knowledge of DoD and federal security regulations (e.g., NISPOM, SECNAVINST) with experience in facility security tasks including access control, classified material handling, and routine security checks.
- Capability to conduct security briefings, execute incident response, and coordinate with government entities and site leadership.
- Willingness and availability to support a 24/7 facility, including taking on‑call responsibilities as required.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Current or active DoD Secret clearance (must maintain throughout employment).
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer Program Management for possessing facilities.
- Insider Threat Program course completion.
Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
