Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol

Overview

Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol role at Allied Universal. The position is part-time, based in Virginia Beach, VA, and involves armed patrols at government locations, delivering customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately to emergencies when needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, solving problems while maintaining professionalism.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials to deter unauthorized entry and maintain order.
• Document and report incidents, observations, and unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency responders as required for incidents at the location.
• Remain alert and attentive to surroundings while carrying out all assigned duties, adapting to varying environments and conditions.

• A valid driver’s license is required per Allied Universal policy.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age (21 for armed roles).
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
