Brief DescriptionThe GBS Group has an exciting opportunity in Virginia Beach, VA for a QUALITY ASSURANCE OVERSIGHT REPRESENTATIVE serving as an On site representative at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. As a QAOR you will provide support to NSWCPD Project Services Management Team and Project Manager as an On-site Representative for projects at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, working with a team of Naval and Engineering professionals to conduct certification and audits for SUBSAFE, Level 1 materials and systems.
Responsibilities- Provide engineering/technical support and oversight of SUBSAFE (SS) work shipboard.
- Provide Project Management support to the Government OSR, including surveillances, observations and assessment of SS and non-SS work performed by the Assigned Activity in a shop facility and identify deficiencies and develop and submit findings to Government for approval of surveillance observations.
- Support the undocking of submarines identified as Dock Limiting, including performance of ship checks, review of technical work documents to verify work completion to support Undocking and development and submittal for approval of deficiency Corrective Action Request (CAR).
- Support during After Action Reviews performed following a submarine availability, as required.
- Provide technical support and oversight of shipboard work and provides project management support to the government OSR.
- Perform in-process monitoring and surveillances of contractor work performed aboard ship in accordance with a task-specific surveillance plan.
- Attend specific meetings and duties with oversight or responsibility.
- Track and document the inventory of government furnished material to the contractor.
- Be familiar with Naval Shipyard maintenance availabilities, understanding the general structure of Naval Shipyard scheduling practices. Evaluate the production schedule and identify potential scheduling conflicts with associated work streams to prevent production delays.
- Understand NAVSEA , Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) Requirements Manual, current revision and change level, and NAVSEANOTE 5000, Activities Authorized to Perform SUBSAFE Work, FBW SCS, and DSSSOC Work, including the SUBSAFEGRAM’s current revision and change levels.

- Subjected to fluctuating climate temperatures.
- Squatting and ducking to maneuver through congested spaces.
- Must be a US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance or able to obtain one.

Education:
High school diploma or GED, and a graduate of military schools which provided an in-depth knowledge of naval shipboard systems maintenance and operation; or be a graduate of a trade, industrial or correspondence school for engineering. - Target
Experience:
Five (5) years; experience as a LEVEL I material certifier, or five (5) years’ experience working with Quality Systems which meet either MIL-I-45208/ISO 9000 standards or ten (10) years’ Quality Assurance experience with SUBSAFE and LEVEL I systems.
