Join Our Team as a MOSQUITO CONTROL CREW LEADER
! The City of Virginia Beach Public Works – Mosquito Control Division is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. If you’re looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real impact while working alongside a passionate group of professionals, this is the opportunity for you!
- The individual will direct a crew engaged in drainage and/or larviciding.
- Directs, participates in, and inspects the work of personnel engaged in mosquito control, drainage, and larvicide operations to accomplish the production objectives set by the maintenance supervisor.
- Maintains time and materials records to account for work accomplishments and to forecast future resource needs.
- Assumes the responsibilities of the maintenance supervisor in his absence to ensure continued production.
- Does related work as required.
Must obtain a Tech 60 or Category 8 Pesticide Applicator’s License within the first 6 (six) months of employment.
Position is ALPHA I and is required to work during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes, and snow, etc.).
