Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Rehab Unit

Sentara Virginia Beach GH is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Rehabilitation Unit. Come join our team!

Shift: PT (24hrs) - Nights Unit

Description:

Inpatient Rehab (IPR) is an 8-bed unit specializing in providing patients with additional rehabilitation needs for 2-3 weeks when they are not independent enough to go home but do not require a skilled nursing facility. We work closely with the physical therapy, occupational therapy, & speech therapy teams while providing care to these patients. We become familiar with our patients and their routines over this longer stay.

We enjoy watching our patients progress to going home and that is rewarding as a nurse. The patient population includes but is not limited to stroke, spinal cord injury, patients that required amputation or other orthopedic patients that require more therapy after being medically cleared from the hospital. We have one physician who oversees & runs the IPR unit. With only 8 beds on the unit the physician personally selects the most appropriate patients that will thrive on our unit.

The physician is engaged with the nursing team and easily accessible for all patient needs to enhance patient care & nursing workflow. The IPR team of nurses works closely together as well as with our 3 west ortho team.
