Working Conditions:

**- The person will be involved in two high schools - physically being present in both schools and leading a club that is combined between both schools.  - The person will help with area wide Capernaum events throughout the year such as our local day camp in June and our Capernaum Surf Camp in September.  - The person needs to be able to lead a group of full time working adult volunteers.  

- The person needs to be capable of being a part of and leading a well established adult committee.  - The person needs to be comfortable building relationships of trust with parents, teachers, administrators, and other adults in the area.  - The person needs to be someone who takes initiative and strives for excellence in all aspects of our job.  

- The person needs to be able to work on a team with other staff people.  - The person needs to help run and take charge of annual area wide fundraising events - i.e. Golf Tournament, Trivia Night, Year-End Campaign, etc  - The person needs to be able to raise personal support and be comfortable asking others to partner financially in the ministry.  

- The person helps think strategically to put systems and operations in place for our area to run smoothly and efficiently so that we can reach even more kids.## Associate Area Director

* Summary:

** In cooperation with the area director and through spiritual leadership and good management, implement the necessary actions in his/her area to carry out Young Life’s mission of introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Recruit, train and deploy others to have an effective Young Life ministry.

** Ministry Functions:
** Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.  - Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.  - Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.  

- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.  - Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.  - Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the area, is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
