Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
We are seeking full-time Shipboard Electrical Technicians (Engineering Tech) to support Electrical and Interior Communications (IC) systems on ships. Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting equipment such as switchboards, load centers, power and lighting distribution panels, circuit breakers, cathodic protection, and degaussing systems. Due to ongoing upgrades and variations across vessels, the list of supported systems is not all-inclusive.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of recent experience troubleshooting and maintaining shipboard power and electronic systems.
- Qualification as a US Navy CIC Watch Supervisor, Chief Electrical Watch, EPCC, EOOW, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years in availability planning, modernization, repair, and testing of electrical systems.
- At least 4 years of experience with US Navy 3-M and supply systems.
- Current Level 1 Thermographer certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to distinguish color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, and ladder climbing.
- Capability to pull wires and cables through conduits.
- Wearing safety gear as required.
- Access and navigate all areas of naval/maritime facilities or ships.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
