Job Responsibilities:

• Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
• Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users.
• Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.
• Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.
• Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure.
• Requires a high level of expertise in multiple system environments.

Job Requirements:

• At least 7 years of Linux systems administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting experience in a large-scale (100+ servers), customer-facing, high availability environment.
• At least 4 years Administration, maintenance, support, tuning and scaling of Application Servers (Tomcat, Weblogic, JBoss, etc.).
• At least 2 years supporting large scale applications in addition to providing system support.
• At least 3 years supporting large application software clusters (Riak, Rabbit
  
  MQ, Redis, etc.) and with a clear understanding of their issues and bottlenecks.
• Creation of shell scripts to automate tasks and perform basic data analysis.
• Experience in managing a highly available customer facing applications and the ability to define and design applications based on load balancing (LB) and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB).
• Experience managing servers remotely in a distributed environment.
• Experience in automation and configuration management.
• Design and implementation of monitoring and notification approaches which maximize system stability, function and performance.
• Demonstrated ability to stay organized while multi-tasking between several projects, and to adapt to change.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with professional work ethic and positive attitude.
• Demonstrated ability to produce results with minimal day-to-day direction and deliver on contracted deliverables.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
