Important:
You will be required to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift; you will wear personal protective equipment including surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles, and caps.
As a Processing Technician OB/Demin
, you’ll play a vital role in advancing our mission. You’ll be responsible for performing all aspects of processing, preservation, and storage of tissues in an FDA-regulated environment. You will work in a team environment under aseptic conditions while performing controlled production processes. You will perform quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. The role’s complexity varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy required, number of graft lines/product families processed, complexity of processes required for proficiency, number and types of equipment operated, degree of manual dexterity, and other special needs.
These roles are critical to the Life Net Health mission because they help transform a donor’s gifts into lifesaving allografts for patients worldwide. Your work will have purpose every day, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.
What You’ll Do — Responsibilities
- Tissue Processing:
Review work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production. Work with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed. Perform all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols. Assist supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives. - Packaging:
Perform all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols. - Documentation & Data Entry:
Document all processes and functions performed in accordance with procedures and protocols. - Decontamination:
Perform post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- High School or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
- Zero years of work experience required
Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications
- Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- One (1) year Tissue Processing, Tissue Recovery, or Surgical Technician experience preferred
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Able to convey information verbally and in writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, Databases
- Able to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
- Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Technical skills (preferred), general knowledge of anatomy, able to use surgical instrumentation and equipment
