Patient Registration Representative

The Jordan-Young Institute is a prominent multi-sub-specialty private physician practice offering orthopedics, sports medicine, neurosurgery/spine, physical medicine & rehabilitation, and physical therapy in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are a high-volume practice that provides the very best medical care to our patients.

The Patient Registration Representative will work directly under the supervision of the Business Operations Manager, collaborate with the team, and report any discrepancies immediately to maintain Jordan-Young Institute’s superb customer service standards and quality of care.

• Serve as a concierge: greet patients and visitors, collect payments and co-payments.
• Perform clerical functions, including answering the switchboard, scheduling routine appointments, ordering supplies, generating no-show and recall letters, processing mail, and producing end-of-day reports. May also document patient phone calls in the EHR for call routing/resolution.
• Execute patient registration and check-in: confirm patient demographics and insurance information, assist with kiosk registration, and perform patient check-out.
• Maintain patient medical records in accordance with standards; upload fax documents into EPIC and perform basic EMR scanning.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and risk‑mitigating measures, completing all required safety competencies on time.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Prior experience in a medical front‑desk registration role (preferred).
• Experience with telephone and face‑to‑face customer service (required).
• Knowledge of computers and database/word‑processing software.
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with a wide range of patients.
