Tidewater Physicians for Women is a division of Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care with offices in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia. Women of all ages from young teens to women past menopause can access compassionate and individualized care at Tidewater Physicians for Women. Our practice takes comprehensive care to a higher level with a large team of experienced and qualified physicians, nurse practitioners, and two licensed counselors.

- The Medical Receptionist is responsible for check-in and check-out, including taking patients information, scheduling management of patients for all appointments, verifying demographics, data entry, collecting co-pays, reconciling batches, confirming appointments, and working directly with our providers and staff.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality concerning patients, co-workers, and all job assignments is imperative.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Review Athena task bucket.
- Fax patient documents to Athena and verify forms have been downloaded to patient’s chart.
- Maintain work area to ensure healthy organized work environment.
- Monitor and respond to voicemails.
- Monitor and respond to patient cases.
- Validate patient demographics at the time of check-in.
- Collects co-payments and other applicable payments before appointments.
- Participates in the insurance verification process and assists with billing as needed.
- Maintain reception area and lobby area in a neat, orderly, and clean condition at all times.
- Interact with patients and visitors in a positive, pleasant, and professional manner.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and direct to appropriate person and/or departments.
- Obtain necessary signatures and forms based on appointment type.
- Schedule follow up visits for patients.
- Schedule appointments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Full-time.
SalaryFrom $15.50 per hour.

To keep our staff safe, we provide and require: surgical masks, eye protection, hand sanitizer & contact tracing logged daily. Disinfectant supplies are also provided.
Education- High school or equivalent (Preferred).
- Medical receptionist: 1 year (Preferred).
