Financial Controller

Position Summary:

The Financial Controller is the senior financial leader responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and operational relevance of all financial information for the manufacturing organization. This role owns the company’s cost accounting, inventory valuation, financial reporting, and internal controls while serving as a strategic partner to operations and executive leadership.

This position goes beyond traditional accounting and plays a central role in driving profitability, controlling costs, optimizing inventory, and ensuring financial visibility across production, tooling, labor, and overhead. The ideal candidate is a CPA with deep manufacturing experience who can translate shop-floor activity into actionable financial insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Maintain and improve financial systems and workflows, with a focus on ERP functionality and utilization.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
• Responsible for the standard cost accounting, including BOMs, labor and overhead rates, and variance analysis. Cash oversight including bank reconciliation and payment processing/approval.
• Support the year-end audit and participate in tax audits.
• File sales tax filing requirements and other tax obligations across applicable jurisdictions and ensure compliance
• Support tax planning and compliance activities.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, internal controls, and data integrity.
• Partner with operations and management teams to provide financial insights supporting business decisions in a manufacturing environment.
• Partner with HR and Payroll to align personnel and payroll activity with financial records, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all general ledger postings and reconciliations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• SAP proficiency is a plus..
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
