Description

You will be the Combatant Craft Maintenance Engineer for the Virginia Beach, VA area and must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Responsible for monitoring and coordinating all actions related to maintenance management for NSWG
    4.
  • Participate in all CCM and CCA maintenance and repair activity availability requirements.
  • Plan maintenance support for visits to other CONUS locations to evaluate, review, and plan detachment maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in detachment operations, assessments, inspections, installation deployment plans, and disaster preparedness exercises.
  • Report directly to the Maritime Sustainment Field Engineer Manager and support daily activities required by the NSWG4 - N9 Engineering Department Head.
  • Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignments with long‑range perspective for desired results.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional forecasts for maintenance requirements and participate in weekly, monthly, and seasonal planning activities.
  • Develop and implement appropriate checklists and metrics; produce performance reporting and analyze trends.
  • Attend as a key player in cross‑functional maintenance and logistics planning meetings to ensure proper communication.
  • Guide successful completion of major programs/projects and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Coordinate all maintenance, repair parts, supplies, tools, and calibration requirements for on‑site service providers.
  • Serve as the unit’s primary maintenance planner and support equipment staff lead for operations and planning.
  • Develop technical and operational solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and recommend requirements for maintenance contract negotiations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Subject Matter Expert on combatant craft maintenance availability requirements short and long term.
  • Extensive knowledge of NSW craft, support equipment requirements and operational maintenance requirements for CCM and CCA.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to senior management, peers, and team members with quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain an interim Secret DoD Security Clearance prior to starting this position (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Ability to travel to all 50 U.S. States and Territories; travel CONUS within 72‑hour notification.
Desired Skills
  • Experience supporting USSOCOM surface system vessels and CCM craft sustainment.
  • Experience in NSW Maintenance Management and Quality Maintenance Surveillance/Management.
  • Strong understanding of HM&E support requirements and Military Life Cycle Sustainment.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years working in or indirect support of a Military / government agency.
Security Clearance Statement

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.

Work Schedules

Onsite Full‑time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed.
