Job Summary

This position performs a variety of complex engineering tasks of an analysis, design, or test nature in one or more of the company’s product/service areas requiring strong technical skills in one or more software and/or hardware engineering disciplines. Plans, conducts, and may supervise research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specification. Participates on project teams and provides guidance to technical staff.

Requires specialized skills or is multi-skilled developed through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. Completes work with a limited degree of supervision. Likely to act as an informal resource for associates with less experience. Requires skilled in a range of processes, procedures, and systems to carry out assigned tasks or has developed deep skills in a single area.

Job Description

KMS is seeking an Engineering Technician III/IV experienced in underwater acoustics and Towed Arrays to work with a team of Engineers and Technicians across a portfolio of engineering services. Candidate will also engage with Senior Engineers for design reviews, troubleshooting, and implementing technical solutions associated with US Navy related acoustics systems.

  • Participates on project teams and performs alongside engineers and technical staff.
  • Plans and conducts research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specification.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Minimum Education:

    HS Degree
  • Minimum Experience:

    Three years of experience with acoustic sensors and signal processing. The experience shall also include a thorough understanding of in-water measurement arrays, equipment maintenance, and the interfacing of hardware and software for operation of measurement arrays.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Towed Array handling, installations, maintenance, and operation in US Navy environment.
  • Advanced technician skills, soldering, and troubleshooting electronic equipment.
