Drafter I​/II

Overview

Drafter I/II in Virginia Beach, VA. This position is contingent upon customer approval.

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Drafter I/II to provide drafting and design drawing support for modernization and upgrade initiatives for Navy Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS).

• Familiar with ASME drawing standards.
• Utilize government-provided redline drawings to update technical data packages (TDPs) and drawings for final release.
• Update and maintain drawing tracking databases.
• Update current 3D models in Inventor to capture changes.
• Update current 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
• Support onsite drawing activities at Dam Neck Annex Base.

• Must have 2 years CAD drafting experience in a professional engineering environment with a high school diploma.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Project and Excel).
• Must have experience updating and creating 3D models with Inventor.

• Certification from an accredited technical school in the Drafting/Design field (preferred).
• Experience with Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) (preferred).
• Experience with quality control checks on various TDPs.
• Experience working on Dam Neck Annex Base (preferred).
• One year of experience with Navy drawing and 3D model development (preferred).

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
• Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.

• Less than 10% travel.
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL .

• Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
• Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
• Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
