Geotechnical Engineer

WSP is currently initiating a search for a
Geotechnical Engineer I for our Virginia Beach, VA office!

Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical & Tunneling Team and be part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Planning, estimating, and conducting subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs in soil and rock
• Interacting with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, drillers, and clients confidently and professionally
• Performing geotechnical analyses and designing tunnels, foundations, embankments, pavements, and earth retaining systems for transit, transportation, buildings, and water projects
• Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data, and design reports
• Preparing design drawings and specifications
• Making responsible and ethical decisions regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies
• Performing additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of geotechnical experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
• Responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct
• Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks, follow instructions, work independently, and comply with policies
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, and harassment policies
