Job Description

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a Department of Defense contractor focused on range operations, weapons testing, and cybersecurity. SA-TECH currently supports the Navy Integrated Training Environment at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA.

Position Overview

SA-TECH is hiring an EW Pod Engineering Technician IV to maintain EW, TCTS AS, LATR PIP, Iridium, and IMPASS systems and subsystems.

Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems beyond manufacturer references.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all EW, TCTS AS, LATR PIP, Iridium, and IMPASS subsystems and associated interface equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, inspect, troubleshoot, and program systems using RF test equipment such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and specialized test equipment including T4B Test Set, LATR Test Set, LATR portable test units, and TCTS AS test sets.
  • Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to other technicians.
  • Coordinate with Navy and civilian personnel to deliver, install, maintain, and remove equipment for Unit Level and Large Force Exercise requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment preventive maintenance schedules and assign daily work to lower-level technicians.
  • Document maintenance actions in IEMS, logbooks, and databases.
  • Monitor and verify work order entry accuracy of lower-level technicians.
  • May serve as IMPASS System Maintainer aboard ships and deploy with equipment during FIREX events.
  • May serve as a project flight technician supporting airborne Developmental Test & Evaluation and Fleet training CAS support; must meet all CAS contractor, FAA, and NAWCAD flight qualifications.
  • Maintain asset control on all equipment and complete DD1149s for equipment issue.
Work Conditions &

Physical Requirements
  • Typical shop/office environment with some flight line/hangar work.
  • Occasional work aboard ship with transfer by small boat or helicopter.
  • EW technician will function as onboard tech in CAS aircraft, working inside the helicopter for installation of tracking equipment.
  • Must be physically able to assist in lifting, carrying, loading EW/TCTS/IMPASS equipment if required.
  • Must possess planning, organizing, and deadline work skills.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a technical school or Navy "C" School or equivalent courses in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, or engineering technology; or at least 30 semester hours in an accredited college or university engineering or technical curriculum.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in electronic warfare systems or tactical combat training systems equipment maintenance preferred; familiarity with Naval Aviation Maintenance and Quality Assurance Programs required.
  • Experience working on military, civilian, or commercial flight lines and around aircraft.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must speak, read, and write English.
  • Three (3) years’ electronic maintenance in digital/analog signal processing, radar theory, electromechanical devices, communications, DC power supplies, RF test equipment, RF signal processing, low voltage AC equipment, antenna systems, GPS receiver testing.
  • Current Driver’s License required; must be insured through company vehicle insurance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and must obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire and maintain throughout employment.
Desired Experience
  • Seven (7) years’ technical experience with tactical training range systems.
  • Training in tactical data information links and fundamentals.
  • Four (4) years’ experience with DRMS or similar voice and data IP/UDP multicasting.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with SATCOM operations.
  • Five (5) years’ electronic maintenance or operations in communications, PC computer systems, DC power supplies, test equipment, optical equipment, RF signal processing, antennas, low voltage AC equipment, primary and secondary power equipment, and UPS equipment.
