To learn more about Mission Technologies, for a short video: Summary HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Navel Combat Systesm Engineer to support advanced training and engineering initiatives for the U.S. Navy and joint war fighting communities specializing in Aegis Ballistics Missile Defense Systems on the contract.
This role leverages deep expertise in Aegis Combat Systems, Aegis Weapon Systems, and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) missions to ensure mission readiness, system reliability, and effective training solutions. Why This Role Is Important This position directly impacts the Navy's ability to train, certify, and sustain combat readiness in the face of evolving ballistic missile threats. By combining hands-on Aegis/BMD operational knowledge with systems engineering expertise, the SME ensures that integrated training environments and mission systems are accurate, reliable, and aligned with real-world operational demands.
#LI-MJ1 What you will do
* Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total training systems, with a focus on ballistic missile defense scenarios .
* Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements (including MDA requirements for threat models and operational protocols) into total training systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirement gathering , requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into software specifications.
* Apply extensive technical expertise and have full knowledge of other related disciplines.
* Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings, including presenting SYSML models and simulation results to stakeholders .
* Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. This includes developing innovative approaches to simulate ballistic missile threats and countermeasures.
