Systems Engineer, Software Engineer
Insight Global is looking for a Linux Engineering Tech Lead to join one of our federal clients in Virginia Beach, VA. The Linux Engineer will support live, virtual, and constructive training events. They will also provide technical leadership in the planning and execution of these training events if they have lead experience.
This range is provided by Insight Global. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. The base pay range is $43.00/hr - $48.00/hr.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline plus 5 years of directly related experience is required, or 9 years of IT experience without a degree.
Must have a thorough understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and be able to use advanced capabilities such as command line interface, scripting, network interface configuration, device configuration, domain management, file sharing/mapping, etc. Should be familiar with Networking concepts, architectures, and transport technologies like TCP/IP, and or Wireshark.
During client events, must be able to address technical issues by understanding which engineering domain problems belong to and then assign engineers from the appropriate domains to resolve issues.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience- Experience working with Navy systems and/or commands desirable but not mandatory.
- Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS is preferred.
- Preferred to have technical leadership ability.
