Environmental Engineer Compliance Consultant

Overview

Environmental Engineer Compliance Consultant role rid work environment; some travel may be required (up to 50%).

• Support and deliver Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans;
  Facility Response Plans (FRP); and Clean Water Act (CWA), Stormwater (SW), and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulatory reviews and permits through engineering, design, and project management.
• Lead design, engineering, and project tasks; delegate work; and collaborate with engineers and design practitioners of varying experience levels.
• Mentor junior practitioners and learn from senior practitioners to grow professionally.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to drive business through proposals, networking, and sole source opportunities.
• Utilize your engineering background and creativity to address stormwater, tank, and wastewater compliance issues; deliver sustainable solutions for clients.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related engineering field
• More than five years of experience with SPCC, FRP, CWA, SW, and NPDES permitting
• Experience supporting field efforts
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams and guiding them through best practices
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Virginia OR ability to gain licensure within one year of employment
• Certification by the Steel Tank Institute as an Above Ground Storage Tank SP001 Inspector OR ability to gain registration within six months of employment
• Experience with writing regulatory compliance plans, stormwater inspection reports, proposals
• Effective communication skills, including demonstrated presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Planning and organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail of complex engineered components
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a client-focused mindset
• US Citizenship and a US passport (or ability to obtain one within three months of employment)

• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field
• Ability to function as a technical project lead, breaking down complex problems into actionable tasks and managing workflows
• Familiarity with core project management competencies (define scope, set timelines, assure quality)

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $ per year. Jacobs notes that pay will be based on skills, experience, and location. Internal and recruiter discussions can provide final details.
