Position: ENGINEER/SCIENTIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will serve as a Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment (STAVE) Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) Software Engineer or Battle Force Tactical Training/Advanced Training Domain (BFTT/ATD) Software Engineer for NSWCDD Dam Neck Naval Facility.
* You will independently manage complex software development tasks and provide advanced software engineering knowledge for various projects.
* You will provide advanced technical support to development testing activities to include software test procedure development, regression testing, and test report generation.
* You will provide technical leadership both within and outside of the organization, directly interacting with customers and external partners to define needs, negotiate solutions, and build collaborative relationships.
* You will be responsible for strategic planning, securing future work, and ensuring the technical readiness of customers.
* You will mentor junior engineers to promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition

and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This is a Key Leadership Position (KLP). Unless specially waived by the appropriate official, the selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three (3) years. Qualifications In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-09 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience as a professional engineer or scientist applying computer engineering principles to design or develop software testing activities. Examples of qualifying experience may include:
1) skill in utilizing a combination of various object-oriented programming languages (C#, C++, Java, etc.);
2) ability to manage complex software development projects and/or lead technical teams;
3) advanced knowledge of engineering/scientific concepts and technology with the ability to adapt theory and/or good scientific practices. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
