Long Term Substitute Teacher: SPED (Grade 6/8)

Under the direction of the school principal, plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
- Provide an atmosphere conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise students in various school-related settings.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
- Communicate with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Monitor proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of VBCPS curriculum and policies.
- Ability to implement multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into curriculum.
- Strong oral and written communication and human relations skills.
Reports to:
Principal or designee. Full‑time position.
Compensation:
- Daily rate: $125.00 (unlicensed) or $135.00 (licensed).
- Long‑term rate: $205.00 per day after 20 consecutive days of substitution.
Eligibility:
Must be licensed in Virginia with an endorsement in the subject area or be immediately eligible for that license.
FTE: 1.000. Anticipated Start:
February 2026 – March 2026. Salary Range:
