General Business Education Teacher

Job Description

This posting is for the purpose of creating a pool of qualified applicants for teacher positions in business education, grades 6-12 for the  school year. Qualified applicants must be eligible to teach all Technology Education courses at the middle and high school levels in VA.

Under the direction of the school principal, the successful candidate will plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students, create an atmosphere conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, supervise students, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, communicate with students, parents, staff, and the community, develop instructional plans, and maintain records.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes
• Communicate with students, parents, staff, and the community
• Develop instructional plans and materials
• Maintain records and follow procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
• Must have or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education
• Knowledge of VBCPS curriculum and instructional practices
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
