Role OverviewMedical Director — Part‑Time, Virginia Beach, VA. We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Medical Director to join Legacy Care on a part‑time basis in Virginia Beach. This leadership role involves overseeing clinical operations across designated post‑acute and long‑term care facilities, supporting quality improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring clinical teams to deliver safe, effective, patient‑centered care.

- Provide medical leadership and oversight for care delivered within assigned post‑acute and long‑term care facilities
- Ensure clinical practices align with evidence‑based guidelines, regulatory requirements and facility policies
- Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing staff, advanced practice clinicians, therapists, social workers and other stakeholders to promote high‑quality, person‑centered care
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitor clinical outcomes and implement corrective actions as needed
- Review and approve clinical policies, order sets and protocols; support antimicrobial stewardship and medication safety efforts
- Provide consultation on complex clinical cases, acute changes in condition and transitions of care
- Supervise, mentor and provide education to medical staff and facility teams to strengthen clinical skills and adherence to best practices
- Participate in facility rounds, care‑planning meetings, regulatory surveys and interdisciplinary case conferences
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and communication across the care team and in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license
- Board certification in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Recent clinical experience in post‑acute care, long‑term care, geriatrics or related settings preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality improvement methodologies and patient safety principles
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and clinical documentation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to patient‑centered care, professionalism and ethical practice
