Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our team. This is a permanent position that will oversee government construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual with a strong background in commercial construction, particularly in the government sector.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including the management of quality control, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement.
2. Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities.
3. Work closely with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps to ensure all construction activities align with government standards and regulations.
4. Develop and implement project risk management plans to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
5. Conduct regular safety audits, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
6. Develop and enforce comprehensive QA/QC plans to ensure quality in all construction activities.
7. Maintain effective communication with contractors, construction managers, and government representatives.
8. Ensure project compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including those related to environmental health and safety.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably in the government sector.
3. Demonstrated experience working with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps.
4. Thorough knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices, including OSHA 10 and OSHA 30.
5. Proven experience in conducting safety audits, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
6. Strong skills in risk management and quality control.
7. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
