Job Overview – Multifamily Construction Superintendent:
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Our client is hiring a seasoned Multifamily Construction Superintendent in Richmond, VA to lead ground-up residential projects from site prep through project close-out. This on-site leadership role is ideal for candidates with a proven track record managing 100-300 unit developments, overseeing subcontractors, enforcing site safety, and ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Responsibilities as the Multifamily Construction Superintendent:
- Site Operations & Safety: Oversee daily construction activities, enforce safety standards, and ensure compliance with OSHA and building codes.
- Team & Trade Coordination: Direct subcontractors and crews to maintain quality, productivity, and project flow.
- Scheduling & Progress Tracking: Manage and update construction schedules, ensuring timelines are met across all phases.
- Quality Control & Inspections: Monitor workmanship to meet design specs and lead final walkthroughs, punch lists, and close-out.
- Logistics & Communication: Coordinate materials and site logistics while collaborating with project managers, architects, and stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Multifamily Construction Superintendent:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: 10-20 years of experience with a General Contractor managing ground-up multifamily residential projects ranging from 100 to 300 units.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in construction sequencing, blueprint reading, safety protocols, and building codes, with familiarity in Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Results-driven, highly organized, and effective at problem-solving under pressure with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.
