Wylander, a recruiting company specializing in the disaster restoration industry, is recruiting a Director of Construction for a full-service disaster restoration company based in Virginia Beach, VA.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base Salary: $95,000 - $98,000 DOE + Bonus/Commission Structure

The Director of Construction will lead all reconstruction operations from sales handoff through project completion, ensuring timely, high-quality execution of both residential and commercial projects within a 60-mile radius of Virginia Beach. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a background in high-volume construction and a passion for people, performance, and process. Director of Construction Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor Project Managers handling residential and commercial reconstruction projects
• Oversee job progress from intake to final delivery with a focus on quality and timelines
• Coordinate and supervise all phases of construction from planning through completion
• Identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align operations with organizational goals
• Ensure high client satisfaction through proactive communication and reliability

Director of Construction Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing both construction projects and personnel
• Demonstrated success leading teams in high-volume, fast-paced construction environments
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor management, and multi-phase project execution
• Skilled in project management, estimating, scheduling, and problem-solving
• Background in hospital, high-production residential, or commercial construction is acceptable
• Clear and effective communicator who leads with accountability and empathy
• Ability to foster team coordination and support career development of others
• Committed to building a high-performing, value-driven culture
• Financial Management/Budgeting experience
