Overview
Chesapeake Homes is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Market Intelligence Analyst to deepen our understanding of competitive activity across the Mid-Atlantic region—from South Carolina through Virginia. This role will be the organization’s go-to expert on market conditions, home builder competition, community positioning, pricing, product trends, and consumer shifts. The ideal candidate thrives on gathering data, spotting patterns, and translating insights into actionable recommendations that directly influence sales, product strategy, and decisions.
Responsibilities- Benchmark product specs, elevations, square footage mix, and lot premiums
- Evaluate option packages and structural upgrade trends across competitors
- Provide recommendations on product design or strategy
- Rate-buydown trends
- Inventory clearance tactics
- Partner with Sales leadership
- Support for Land & New Community Launches
- Conduct competitive feasibility studies for land acquisition
- Provide go/no-go insights on new submarkets
- Build launch playbooks including:
- Monitor leading indicators like Starts
- Deliver quarterly market outlooks with risk + opportunity calls
- Analyze competitor lead-gen tactics
- Report on SEO/SEM positioning gaps and shifting buyer behaviors
- Maintain a central intelligence repository—living, searchable database
- Present findings in:
- monthly division strategy meetings
- quarterly leadership business reviews
- Land → future submarket opportunities
- Product → plan alignment with buyer + market trends
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Real Estate, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in homebuilding, real estate development, new home sales analytics, market research, economic/industry analysis or similar
- Strong data interpretation and visualization skills (Excel, Power
BI/Tableau preferred) - Experience with industry tools a plus (Zonda, Metrostudy, MLS, CoStar, ESRI, etc.)
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise, actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable with periodic travel across SC–VA region
Monday-Friday, standard daytime hours; 8:30 am - 5 pm
Job Type- 401k with contribution
- Office-based environment with a business casual dress code. Standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, are used in this role.
