- Perform and complete a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the facility’s property and plant utility systems
- Maintain, test, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair facilities, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment to ensure the highest reliability, proper performance, and safe operation
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment as necessary
- Thorough understanding of the use of tools
- Electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills are a must
- Good understanding of basic math
- Basic construction knowledge
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner
- Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working condition
- Service tools and equipment
- Assist with conveyor belt repairs, power train & bearing maintenance, motor, and gearbox replacement, fork truck maintenance
- Accurately and consistently change out parts
- Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on all equipment
- Walk/stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout shift
- Frequent reaching overhead
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions as needed
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of technical, electrical, or mechanical experience; OR
- Completion of vocational or apprenticeship program
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Must have a full range of physical motion as required to properly operate manual and electric power tools
- Must have the balance necessary to work on scaffolding and roofs
- Will work in a variety of environments and weather with exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals in both indoor and outdoor construction
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
Here’s When You Will Be Working
This is a full-time career with Northeast Precast. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday beginning at 7 AM and ending at approximately 3:30 PM. Overtime is expected to occur depending on project requirements. This position may entail weekend work but only on occasion.
