Employee Relations, Talent Manager, HR Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Responsible for leading and administering all human resources functions in support of the credit union’s mission, values, and strategic goals. This role ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations, promotes a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and partners with leadership to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce committed to exceptional member service.
Duties and Responsibilities Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Oversight- Administer compensation programs, benefits, and incentive plans in alignment with market trends and internal equity.
- Partner with vendors and internal teams on benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications.
- Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee 401k funding processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including NCUA-related requirements.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Prepare HR-related documentation for audits, exams, and internal reviews.
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare HR metrics and reports for leadership, including turnover, staffing, and training.
- Recommend and implement improvements to HR processes and systems.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and management on human resources strategies, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Align HR initiatives with the credit union’s mission, values, and business objectives.
- Support change management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Manage employee relations matters, including coaching leaders, conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action.
- Develop and implement employee engagement, recognition, and retention programs.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and hiring processes for all positions.
- Ensure equitable, compliant, and efficient hiring practices.
- Coordinating onboarding that supports new employee success and cultural integration.
- Administer performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and development planning.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development, leadership training, and compliance training.
- Support succession planning and career path development.
- Assists in office operations tasks including, but not limited to, data entry, note-taking, and record-keeping.
- Serves in a support capacity as necessary for Executive Management when necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
OR
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience; financial services or credit union experience preferred.
Certifications (Preferred):
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
Knowledge &
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS payroll and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and accountability
Classification: Full-time - Hourly, Non-exempt
Pay Frequency
:
Biweekly (Paid on Wednesdays)
In compliance with the State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the pay rate for this position is $34.53 to $40.28. Placement within the range will be determined by the candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.
Paid Training: Yes. Job-specific training initially provided the first 90 days followed by a 90-day performance evaluation.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday (1/2-hour unpaid lunch break).
