Tax Associate

At H&R Block we help clients navigate tax with confidence in a supportive, high‑performing culture. As a Tax Associate, you will develop your expertise while enjoying flexibility and growth opportunities.

• Conduct client tax interviews face‑to‑face and via virtual tools (video, phone, chat, e‑mail).
• Prepare complete and accurate federal and state tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
• Grow your tax expertise.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Previous customer‑service or retail experience.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 25–35 hours weekly during tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.

• Effective written, telephone, and in‑person communication skills.
• Must meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher.

$11.00 – $27.00 per hour. Individual pay depends on experience, education, skill, performance, and location. Successful candidates may participate in incentive compensation plans.
