Position OverviewThe Resident Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the well‑being, safety, and daily living needs of adult and older adult residents within a group home or residential care setting. This position fosters a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs, including those experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, or developmental disabilities. The Resident Assistant serves as a positive role model, provides guidance in daily activities, and helps residents achieve greater independence and quality of life.
hurd Key responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, promoting healthy habits, supporting medication management, and maintaining a safe and welcoming living environment. The Resident Assistant collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and acts as a resource for residents, encouraging personal growth and community engagement. This position is at Group Home 1 in Vincennes, Indiana. The work schedule is Monday 7pm‑7am, Tuesday née 7pm‑7am, Wednesday 7pm‑7am.
This is a full‑time position (.9 FTE, 36 hours).
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with complex medical or behavioral health needs.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Mentally:
Ability to remain calm and effective in high‑stress situations, including emergencies. Strong communication, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills. Emotional resilience and capability to provide compassionate support while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform light lifting as needed (up to 25 lbs).
- Capability to drive a 12‑passenger van safely in various weather conditions (valid Driver’s License required).
- Occasional exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials; adherence to infection control protocols is required.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk with frequent computer use.
Working conditions:
Work is performed in a clean, well‑lit, and ventilated group home or office environment.
Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Certification:
First Aid and CPR certification (training provided upon hire).(二)

Valid Driver’s License required.
